Annual Monadnock Clean Energy Fair

Second Annual Monadnock Clean Energy Fair

September 28, 2024, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Dillant-Hopkins Airport, Keene, NH

MSH will host its second annual Monadnock Clean Energy Fair. Festivities will be at Keene’s Dillant-Hopkins Airport.  Come see a variety of electric cars, talk with home heating efficiency experts and learn about groups that are working to create a brighter energy future for our region. The onsite restaurant and other food services will be available for your dining needs.

At the Fair, we’ll have:

  • Vendors showing heat pumps, weatherization options, electric yard tools, and other upgrades available to you.
  • Workshops about heat-pumps and about financial incentives for heat-pumps, solar and more
  • Several regional non-profits all working to advance clean energy in the region and the state.
  • A variety of Electric Vehicles (EVs) from pick-up trucks to e-bikes. Our event kicks off National Drive Electric Week

We are even working on potentially getting a fly-in by an E-Aircraft: stay tuned for details and timing. Also, if you or someone you know owns an electric motorcycle, we would love to get in touch about attending this event.

Put the event on your calendars for Saturday, September 28th, 11:00 AM  to 4:00 PM – and contact us at info@monadnocksustainabilityhub.org if you’d like to help out with any aspect of planning or presenting the event!

More Details

The fair is a great opportunity for folks to learn more about cost-saving energy audits, weatherization, solar panels, and heat pumps, along with the rebates, tax credits, and other incentives that make such home improvements more affordable. During the event, a new MSH program aimed at helping area households take advantage of these opportunities, Electrify Monadnock, will be introduced.

At the fair’s EV expo, a wide array of electric cars, motorcycles and bikes will be on display, with EV owners and dealers on hand to answer questions and offer rides and test drives. Seasoned EV drivers will lead discussions on electric vehicles and the ins and outs of charging them. In addition to the EV expo, there will be an assortment of electric lawn care equipment and tools.

In the airport terminal, clean energy experts will give three presentations throughout the day. At 11:30 AM., Doug Waitt, founder and president of Design Day Mechanicals, will explain how heat pumps can heat and cool your building efficiently. Doug has more than 40 years of experience in the HVAC field. At 1:00 PM, Mark Zankel, Director of Community Solar Farms for ReVision Energy, will discuss how community solar can provide clean, renewable, and more affordable energy to communities. Mark has spent almost 30 years working on environmental issues. In the final presentation at 2:30 PM, Dori Drachman, MSH Chair, will discuss financial incentives that can be used to make clean energy improvements more affordable. Dori champions clean energy through her work with MSH and the Peterborough Renewable Energy Project (PREP).

The fair will have fun for the whole family with an assortment of games and demonstrations. Mama McDonough’s Irish Pub and The Sleazy Vegan will be selling a variety of tasty food offerings.

The Monadnock Clean Energy Fair is a collaboration of the Monadnock Sustainability Hub, the Keene Energy & Climate Committee, and the Swanzey Energy Commission and is generously sponsored by Bergeron Mechanical Systems and Granite State Solar.
