Job Opening: Monadnock Sustainability Hub Program Manager

The Monadnock Sustainability Hub (MSH) is a non-profit in southwest New Hampshire dedicated to transitioning the region to 100% clean energy by 2050 while improving the security and resilience of our communities. We work across the region on effective community programs and projects that reduce carbon pollution by accelerating the adoption of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and clean transportation.

The Monadnock Sustainability Hub Program Manager should have a passion for climate action and clean energy solutions along with excellent outreach and communication skills. As the sole employee of MSH, the Program Manager will work closely with the Program Committee, the Board, and community stakeholders to advance the Hub’s goals. The Program Manager is expected to live in the Monadnock region during the term of their employment by the Monadnock Sustainability Hub.

Responsibilities:

  • Help develop, implement and manage programs consistent with MSH’s real-time Strategic Plan: engaging and educating a diverse public on clean energy topics and supporting community campaigns for energy efficiency, clean energy and clean transportation.
  • Build and strengthen the Hub’s relationships with Monadnock communities by connecting and engaging with residents, organizations, businesses, municipalities, and others on effective programs and projects.
  • Collaboratively plan, coordinate and manage events, including content, logistics, publicity, volunteer recruitment, and event sponsorships/fundraising. Current major annual events include a spring DriveElectric Expo, a fall Clean Energy Fair, and an Annual Roundtable highlighting successful projects in the region.
  • Manage communications for the Hub. Serve as a spokesperson for the organization, including connecting with stakeholders. Create, post and maintain updated content for the MSH newsletter, website and social media.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings oriented to diverse target audiences in the general public, as well as meetings within the organization and/or with allied stakeholders.
  • Seek out opportunities to pursue projects enabled by state and federal funding.
  • Provide input and oversee the Program budget.
  • Organize and maintain shared MSH documents and contact lists in an accessible way.
