Discover sustainability events happening across the Monadnock region.
Funding abounds for environmental and energy projects, from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, the Inflation Reduction Act and more. But how is a municipality to make sense of the alphabet stew of possibilities?
Few New Hampshire municipalities can afford a full-time grants writer to sort through the many funding opportunities currently presented by the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, the USDA and more. Members of municipal Energy Committees and Select Boards are frequently citizen volunteers without such knowledge. Luckily there are resources – such as Clean Energy NH, the Monadnock Sustainability Hub, and the office of US Senator Shaheen – that can offer advice to individuals, communities and other entities on the funding that is available and how to access it.
Learn from a panel of experts who give such advice to communities, businesses, individuals and organizations throughout New Hampshire.
This presentation will be of particular interest to members of municipal Energy Committees, Select Boards, mayors and town managers. The panelists have been assisting NH communities, their schools, businesses and residents to find funding sources that fit their needs and circumstances.
The panelists will give concrete examples of towns they have assisted. They will explain “elective pay,” a mechanism for tax-exempt entities to access IRA incentives for energy projects, EV purchases and EV charging infrastructure. They will also introduce us to incentives available to taxpayers (business owners, renters, homeowners) that are not widely-known. We will learn about funding for renewable energy projects, weatherization, electrification, energy efficiency, purchasing EVs and appliances. We’ll learn where to go for technical assistance, and resources where future funding opportunities are announced.
