What main factors & considerations went into your decision to buy an EV?
Reducing my carbon footprint was number one. Ease of handling and instant acceleration, low price point in part due to federal and state tax credits, not having to ever fill up at a gas station, free energy once I plugged my car in at home where I have solar power during the day, absence of noise and fumes, near total absence of maintenance needed, and to set an example to others that they too can go all electric!
What factors sold you on buying an EV? Why did you pick the specific make & model of EV that you did?
I picked VW for the low price point. I don’t need a fancy car.

What is your favorite aspect of the EV driving experience?
Instant torque.
In a few sentences, summarize your favorite EV memory or anecdote.
Whizzing past a huge, dirty, smelly, loud truck without exceeding the speed limit. The look on the other driver’s fax was hilarious.

The smooth driving experience and total absence of maintenance.
What is the main downside or challenge of driving or owning an EV compared to an ICE vehicle? What tricks have you developed to adapt to that challenge?
Not having a long range. To get around that, I always plug my car in when parked at home, I research the location of charging stations when I’m going somewhere and lastly, I take an ICE car if the distance is just too far.

Where do you charge your EV? Do you have an at-home charger?
At home. The people who installed the solar panels also installed the Solar Edge car charger. It’s a high-speed charger.
