SUMMARY:Plug-In to Power Up: What NH Needs to Know About Balcony Solar
DESCRIPTION:Join CENH and experts to learn about the cost-saving and safety considerations related to plug-in solar (“balcony solar”).\n\n\n\n\nPlug-in solar (“balcony solar”) is a small\, portable solar system that plugs directly into a wall outlet – no rooftop install required. Already popular in Germany\, where an estimated 4 million households use it\, this affordable technology could open solar ownership to renters\, apartment dwellers\, and budget-conscious homeowners for the first time. \nWith Senate Bill 540 (SB540)\, New Hampshire now has a legal pathway for plug-in solar\, but safety questions remain. US homes are wired differently than European ones\, and a national safety standard (UL 3700) is still in development. SB540 intentionally holds off on updating building codes until that standard is finalized. \nWe’ll be joined by two guests who know this technology from the inside: Vaughan Woodruff of EquinoxDG\, and Stephan Scherer of Craftstrom\, a manufacturer of plug-in solar systems. Together with CENH staff\, they’ll walk through the technology\, the policy\, and the path ahead – and take your questions live. \nThis one-hour webinar will cover: \n\nHow plug-in solar works and why it’s taken off overseas\nWhat SB540 does (and doesn’t) do\, and the adoption timeline\nThe UL 3700 safety standard and what “certified and compliant” will mean\nPractical guidance on what to watch for and when it’ll be safe to plug in\n\nWhether you’re a curious homeowner\, a renter\, a municipal official\, or an energy professional – this session gives you clear\, trustworthy information on what’s next.

SUMMARY:New Hampshire Energy Week: From Progress to Possibility - The Next Era of Energy in NH
DESCRIPTION:May 5 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm \nFrom policy to local action\, explore NH’s energy future with US Senator Shaheen and leaders driving solutions across the state. \n\n\n\n\nNew Hampshire is at a pivotal moment in its energy story. Costs are rising\, the grid is changing\, and communities across the state are stepping up with real solutions. This is your chance to hear from the people shaping what comes next – and to be part of the conversation yourself. \nJoin us for the signature event of NH Energy Week\, featuring a fireside chat with U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen and a look at what’s happening on the ground – from statewide programs to local community initiatives. \n\nFireside chat with US Senator Jeanne Shaheen: U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen has spent decades fighting for New Hampshire families – on energy costs\, clean air\, weatherization funding\, and the transition to a more resilient grid. As she prepares to close this chapter of public service\, she’ll sit down for a candid fireside conversation with Sam Evans-Brown\, Executive Director of Clean Energy NH\, to reflect on what’s been won\, what’s unfinished\, and what New Hampshire needs to hold onto in the years ahead. This is a conversation as much about legacy as it is about policy.\nLocal voices – Community energy in action: Hear directly from community members and organizations putting energy solutions to work at the local level – the real stories behind what it takes to make change happen in New Hampshire towns.\n\nAttendees will leave with a clearer picture of where New Hampshire’s energy system is headed\, what opportunities exist right now\, and concrete ways to get involved – whether at home\, in your community\, or at the Statehouse.
