Calling advocates of public transportation and public Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure: The Governor’s Advisory Commission on Intermodal Transportation (GACIT), which is made up of the five Executive Councilors and the Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT), has scheduled public hearings throughout the state to talk about their Ten Year Plan. Its purpose is to develop and implement a plan allowing New Hampshire to participate in federally supported transportation improvement projects as well as to outline projects and programs funded with State transportation dollars.
The Ten Year Plan includes infrastructure funding – for bridges, roads, rail trails, and airports. What this plan doesn’t include is public transportation investment or electric vehicle infrastructure. We need every facet of our state government to include climate action in their long term planning.
We need people to turn out to the hearings to let the EC know what is missing in the current plan and what should be included. If you are unable to attend, or in addition, please consider sending them a letter insisting on provisions to support electric and public transportation.
The DOT presentation will take 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes for Q&A.
2025-2034 plan documents are located on this NHDOT web page.
